What are the Pro's and Con's of companys like Grundy, Hagerty and you local standard insurance companys?
Also if you dont mind what is your agreed value and your premium??
If you decide to share this, is your vehicle insured as STOCK or MODIFIED??
Thanks

IMO, agreed value policies are the only way to go when insuring you muscle car, classic, etc. Most standard ins companies offer stated value, which means what some pencil pusher actuary sees your car being worth based on variuous, not so flattering parameters, age, replacement cost, etc. I.E. not real world value at all.
I would skip passed the State Farms, AIG's (for other obvious reasons) Pru, etc and strictly look at the companies mentioned. Some specialized Ins companies have mileage limitations, but may be more then enough for your needs. Some do frown upon highly modified vehicles, especially with NOS and they know will see track use. Most will require photos as well.
I have Grundy right now with agreed value policy for $35K and unlimited mileage. I pay around $300 for the year, and keep in mind I live in the fleece the citizen state of New Jersey, so maybe even cheaper by you. The car has been off the road for about 1 1/2 years while being "pro-toured" and once done will let Grundy know about the mods and see if they will keep me and up my coverage. I have heard that Parish Heathcock(spelling) is also very good and more lienent on the mods, so worth looking into.
But for what it's worth $300 for the year and I would get $35K back if God forbid a total loss, is awsome

I had haggarty and they changed their policy when I was 25 turing 26 I went to renew and they wanted an extra $700 on top of the policy as a "under 27 surcharge" I called grundy that day and got an agreed policy with Grundy and no surcharge and havn't looked back. I have adjusted upwards once already, and they are great to work with.

Hagerty, no issues. No use limits except you are not covered on the track, but you are on the way, in the pits and on the way home. $20k + 100k liability ~$340 annually, no deductibles
I'm gonna shop around again come renewal time just to see what other companies are at.

My policy makes zero mention of that.
You must have a DD. But that is different.

sorry, daily driver...
Here is my current Hagerty Policy & Dec page. For those interested. If you see any mileage limits or other exclusions related to use other than racing let me know. No business use (as in I can't use it as a delivery vehicle or taxi). And nuke attacks. Damn that one. :)

I have used Haggerty and Grundy in the past but I left them because their rates are too high. All that TV advertising and freebie giveaways at every event I go to shows me where most of my premiums were going...and it wasn't in my best interest.
If you're pricing collector car insurance and you haven't talked to Tamra Perto @ MK Insurance Agency, you're doing yourself a major disservice.I have $170K worth of agreed-to insurance on my 3 cars and I pay less than $500/yr...almost what I was paying for 1 car w/Haggerty.There is a mileage limitation but that never concerns me because I don't go over it but I hear there is a rollover policy this year in place for unused mileage so I guess I need to read the fine print, lol.
Seriously,Tamra has been easy to deal with and she's a broker for Haggerty (and Grundy I do believe) so she can be "your" agent if you wish,so you only have to deal with one person everytime...:twothumbs
Go to www.yenko.net and ask over there, all the deep-pocket Yenko and Baldwin-Motion guys use Tamra so there's your answer...:1st: Tell Tamra MusclecarJohn sent you...:smoke:

I use Grundy for both the 71 Camaro and 66 Vette. Agreed value policy of 45K for each car and pay $300 a year for each. My main thing was that they did not care about the full cage and Supercharger and no appraisels were required.
