All of the rear brakes including the backing plate/brackets (which looks like it will require that you take the axles out of the houring of the donor car - definitely on the LT1 era 4th gens, not so sure on the LS1 era).

You might (or might not) want to grab the park brake cables and maybe even the master cylinder.

Actually, it's more likely that since the information would have been found by a search they didn't bother replying.

Searching on "LS1" or "LT1" in the Disk Brakes forum comes up with a long list of posts. They're not the most intuitive search terms, but since the 4th gen rear brakes changed when the engines changed the designation works pretty well.

you can use the 93-97 (LT1) brakes and still have a parking brake. IDK which cable you need, but it can be done.

if you use the 98-02 brakes, you will have to do some custom fabbing to even have a way to hook up a cable.

Model and year of car would help as well. f-bodys are different year to year and different from the a-bodys

I haven't tried to install them yet but I bought a complete set of rear "ls1" brakes on ebay for less than $200. I'll be putting them on a 9" though so I'm sure there will be some fabrication required but I know others have done it.

Off a '98-'02 donor car, you need to pull the axles and get backing plates, calipers, rotors (replace with new ones are recommended), parking brake cables, and anything else you see there.

if at all possible use the LS1 stuff, the LT1 style E-brake is worthless, especially in a heavy car

Ok I have checked out the LS1 rear disc brake set-up and think it might work for me if I drill the rotors out for my 5X5 bolt pattern. Not because of the emergency brake in the rotor I am wondering if I could even do this. Anyone know for sure?

the cadillac sevilles 77 and later had rear discs with a 5x5 bolt pattern that will fit but theyre 10.5: rotors and rear actuating calipers(junk IMO) with a self adjusting calipers

There should be a sticky on the first gen / fourth gen brake swap. I just asked a question like this and I'll bet there's been lots of people asking the same thing. Its a good question and its what hot rodding was built on - who has the expertise on this?
