Subframe connectors, torque boxes front and rear, and rectangular tube lower radiator support. On the fence regarding fully welded floor seams. Still kind of leaning away from a 4 or 6 point roll bar.

Other than the EFI conversion, Bruce did some minor cleanup in the upper plenum, nothing major. Once my new heads arrive I will check the fit and cut the intake as needed, then do a gasket match if needed.
The Mopar Performance suggested modifications are to deal with fuel distribution and puddling issues. This intake will not have any fuel in it since it is port EFI, so those modifications are not needed, dry air flow should be outstanding. Many folks consider this intake to be the best cast intake ever made for the 440. Raymond Meyer, whose '67 Barracuda won the "Modified Naturally Aspirated" class in 2012 Drag Week used to run this intake. He refers to it as "the best intake there is", I think he was running a more conventional tunnel ram for drag week due to carburation simplicity.
With ported iron heads, larger valves, solid flat tappet cam, performer RPM and BG carb I was well over 500hp. The higher flowing heads and less restrictive intake should get me somewhat closer to 600. Not sure, really building the engine to run well in a certain RPM range, I guess the chassis dyno will tell in the end.

The runner volume / length is tuned for the 3.75" stroke 440 to put the torque peak a little north of 4000rpm. For a stroker (like a 505) the runners are too long and the torque peak would be way too early, that is unless you are looking for an intake for your 505ci pick up truck / tow vehicle.

This is a great post ,full of excellent ideas, and photos.
My car is a street driver, with the flavor of pro-touring influence sprinkled over it. I've used Reilly Motorsports, and Mopar parts + a tad bit of used salvage yard items, to keep it on a tight budget. I manged to stuff it full of 6.1 hemi, but it's retained the A727. I've done, and am currently doing a bit of frame reinforcing for less flex, and it actually sits about 2 inches lower than in this photo. It'll remain a stock looking interior, bench seat duster, with a back seat, and trunk, and be a daily driver, for my wife, and I to enjoy. Please keep posting ideas, and photos, and thanks.

Thank you for the compliment. I've been asking a lot of questions to people like : Eric Wracker who competes in the Ultimate Street car auto cross, and pro touring races. It's never been my intention to build a car on the level of those on pro-touring dot com, but rather to translate to lessons learned by people here, into a " modern chassis/vintage body ride. When I first began I was working outside in 26 degree weather, and it seemed like a huge waste of money because non of the parts would fit together. So I sort went on hiatus. I reluctantly began again ( still outside ) when the weather was in the 80's - 90's, and all the suspension parts fell together like cake work. ( tolerances are a funny thing.) Things went from extremely frustrating, to rewarding, and fun. I would like to stiffen the floor pan a bit ( like the mustang guys do, with a floor pan frame. I don't want to go the roll cage route. ( getting to old for crawling through pipe. ) I had cut all the roll cage tubing out of my previous ride, a 6.1 hemi Barracuda I cannibalized due to a massive T bone.
Again, thanks to all pro touring guys, and gals everywhere. Without sights like this, it would cost a small fortune, and a team of experts to get as far as I have. ( and that's not even scratching the surface of some of the beautiful creations on the web sight.

103281So I am just starting a '73 roadrunner build, does anyone here know what wheel/tire sizes I can get under this thing? Stock B-body width Dana 60 I am narrowing up, wilwood discs on the rear, inboard mounted springs for now...planning a 4 link in the future. Front in stock k-member, tubular upper arms, wilwood 11in discs and stock spindles. Wheel lips aren't rolled and wheel tubs are stock. If I wasn't sitting in alaska right now while the car in down in washington I would just go out and messure myself, but I am kind of stuck for the moment. I would like to have the wheels/tires waiting for me when I get back into town.
If anyone knows what I can cram under this thing please pass the info.
The pictures are the day I picked up the car, its currently stripped for chassis work then off to the paint shop.

Sold my Coronet, it needed a complete body job and I'm not up to that anymore. I picked up a 72 Duster, that is solid and a good starting point to a nice build.
It has a freshly built 360 and a 727, and the body its in great shape. Plans are to refine the suspension, brakes and switch to EFI. I want a nice all around driver with this one.

My 1970 Pro touring Cuda just came home after a 1.5 year rebuild. It now has a 6.4 392 Hemi with everything needed to make the switch from the old 440, narrowed Dana 60, mini-tubs, Rushforth wheels, complete undercoating including trunk, fresh paint and more. I am very pleased with the outcome. Still have to do the interior and work some bugs out but I am very pleased with the outcome. Custom in many ways but still stock on the outside for the most part. Will be at Cruising the Coast in October and then planning on making a few out of state shows, like Goodguys. Hope you all enjoy. I will be posting more pictures in the coming weeks.

Heres my new ride, know as the Red Brick. This was originally built by Tim Werner and changed hands a couple of times. Lots of mods.
I once saw a youtube video of this car from the point of view of the driver in a Ford Focus GT getting passed on the track. Anyone have a link to that video?

Nice Car... Whats your Wheel & Tire combo ?
These are the "cheap" wheels I bought when the car was in the body shop to do fitment tests and check clearance on the fenders. Can also use them for "beater" track wheels.
Wheels SVE Drift sold by Late Model Restoration
http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/products/SVE-Drift-Wheels
Front is 18x9 ($150 each) with Falken RT615k 255/40-18
Rear is 18x10 ($160 each) with Falken RT615k 295/40-18
After the car gets on the road I plan to buy 18x9.5 for the front with 275/35-15 and 19x12 on the rear with 325/30-19. I previously ran 325/50-15 drag radials under the rear, pretty sure the 19s will fit!
FYI - these wheels will not clear anyone's stock hubs. My front hubs are Dr Diff for his 13" brake kit and they either need the spacer or the hub (or wheel) needs a minor trim to clear.

Because I just have to be different, instead of the usual A-body, E-body, or 64-70 B-body... I'm starting with a 6th gen 71 Coronet (aka the Crew Cab Charger). A '72 was my first car ages ago, so there's a sentimental connection, plus I want to apply a bunch of years of knowledge and skill that I didn't have at 16 to the same car. Currently completely a bone stock 318/auto car, the plan is to optimize the torsion bar/leaf spring setup and get the oem drivetrain working well. Next step is to swap in the drivetrain from a wrecked '16 Challenger R/T I'm currently disassembling. After that, who knows... wonder if the Challenger IRS rear could be made to work. :dunno:
Considering it was bought (complete) from a wrecking yard, it's in decent shape, and unlike most A/B/E bodies these days, it was cheap.
