would a 20" wheel in the back of a 68 el camino be too big? Its on air ride suspension but would that wheel be overkill? Thanks!

No. It would not look to big.

There is a few of them. It would definitely not look too big.
To each their own though... I would do it in a heart beat.

The shop that built the 2008 Ridler winner is building this El Camino. Click on the link below.

Kinda Dubb city cartoon like for me. You also loose a ldecent amount of sidewall which effects ride quality traction on Accell and can bend wheels quick.

22 are too big IMO, look how skinny that rear tire is.. go with a 20/18 combo they look great on the big long elcos

I personally love a 1" stagger like a supercar i.e. 19s and 20s will look just right and is exactly what I would do to any year El Camino!

18/20 combo would look fine,I had a '72 Camino with that setup and it looked killer. As Jay mentioned,a 19/20 combo may even be a better combo, would look more proportioned.

DO IT!:firefire:

I vote for 18/18 or 18 /19 unless you a tubbing to go super wide. 20 and up look too tall and skinny unless you go 315 or bigger IMO

Agreed.I hate to see 20x8 wheels out back, looks very skinny and weird.
18x9 fronts and 20x10 rears with the correct rubber should fill those wheelwells out nicely...

I take it a step farther. To me even a 10" is too skinny in a 20" I say 11" or 12" with rubber to match to make a 20" look good

I semi agree. I've noticed lately there's several cars pushing 335's & 345's on 12's or wider. Some cars can pull off the super-wide combo while others look odd or almost cumbersome.

A 20x10 w/a 295-40 is tall enough w/o being too tall on an elky & the width is wide w/o being overkill. 11-12's would work but the price starts jumping @ a pretty decent rate when you do.

I would not do an 18" front though. The 2" stagger will most likely be a regrettable decision down the road (I know 'cause I did it). Keep the stagger to a 1" max or maintain the same diameter all around.

True, price increase can be huge.Plus,if designed right, you can have a deep enough dish to where the wheels look wider than they actually are.
