Well last Friday I got to take my car over to Norris Motorsports to have Mike tune for the Supercharger. The motor is a basic '00 LS1 with about 20k miles on it...Mike helped me pick the cam and size the injectors but the internals are stock. I was hoping for HP#s in the high 400s.
I want to be able pound the snot out this thing and not have to worry to much about it. So we stayed with a fairly conservative tune--not too aggressive on the timing and not running real lean.
It pulled 525hp and 495tq to the wheels!! Needless to say I am very happy with Mike's recommendations on the cam and tuning...and oh yeah REAL happy with the Kenne Bell SC.

Patrick,
What heads are you running?
The heads are stock pieces. The only internal mods were:
Cam, Valve Springs, Pushrods, LS2 Chain, and a modified Oil pump.

Pick up a set of 6.0l heads so you can get a little more out of the supercharger. They'll drop the compression ratio a little bit.
You're right though, the Kenne-Bell's are sweet!
nice torque numbers! that's gonna be fun to drive! :6gears:
can anyone educate me on what's going on at 6200 - 6500? I don't think I've ever seen a top-end trail off, only to go back up like that.

Maybe the belt was slipping, then grabbed again? I was thinking valve float, but then i don't think it would recover from that and go up again.
Those KB's are really amazing. I had a 1.5l version on my Ford302 and the torque went from around 200 at the rear wheels to 400. HP went from 190 to 325. Your numbers are incredible. How much boost is that thing pushing?
Of course, I had a bad tune at one point and blew up the motor...the custom chip on the computer went on the fritz and started to pull 60 degrees of timing....it went boom. $6000 later, it was better than ever.
Sold that car to get the Camaro I have today.

Mike and I noticed that blip also...I didn't have a whole of time that day to keep testing but we are thinking it was either belt slip or maybe tire slip?
I doubt it was floating a valve--especially with the new springs.

Patrick,
Did you experience any heat soak during you dyno run? If so, how bad did it hurt performance? What headers are you using?

No heat soak. I live in Florida and I drive the snot out of it. So far no problems. KB did a good job of designing their intercooler and heat exchanger. I do think the heat exchanger could be bigger but it has been ok.
As for headers, I am running StainlessWorks long tubes.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

I am guessing that your car is the one that Larry was drooling over in his daily video the other day at Prodigy Customs. Very nice. I would like to see some more pictures.

That is the one. Patricks car is a awesome machine. Were going to tidy up some interior stuff after we get back from SEMA and get some really good pictures. The silver and red is striking, and Patrick beats the snout out of it. We do not have many local cars we have done we do not own, so it is nice having Patrick's car around
