I have the 2 piece wilwood rear discs with the internal parking brake inside the hat. After hearing some noises that sounded like a wheel bearing on it's way out, I just looked at it today and found the issue.
The outer top spring that pulls the two little drum shoes had broken off and the spring was bouncing around in the drum. Just to be thorough, I checked the other side and that one too had broken, but the spring was hanging from one of the hooks still, and the broken hook end was nowhere to be found.
I don't know why this happened and have no theories, either. For now I just fished out the broken parts and put it back together. There is an inside spring just behind the one in the front, so the shoes are retracting still. I guess over the winter I will replace them, but would like to hear if there is some recall or update on these. Thanks
