Hello everyone. Just thought I'd share an update with you. I really had a blast installing these (tubs) and they were easier than I thought.
Here I started with the drilling and cutting to remove the factory tubs.

Here I notched the frame and welded in the closeouts.

I used cardboard stencils to guide my cuts so the fit turned out nice.

I went with Boze for wheels. 17x11 with 5.5" of setback. I had them custom engrave the center hubs with the Camaro V flags emblem. The tires are 315/35/ZR17.

This is my target ride height.

I have not decided on an axle yet. Currie 9" or Moser 12 bolt???? Guys...This is where I would REALLY appreciate some major input. I will never race the car and my final hp will be @620 with a tremec 5 speed. The rearend will be equiped with a quadralink. I will post another update on that little project.

Looks good, either rearend will do the job... What's the easier of the 2 to come across and cost wise?
I have a currie 9 in with the polished aluminum housing 54.75 wheel to wheel width that would work well. It is new, used for mock up only and was to narrow for my leafspring set up. Its a 31 spline lg bearing housing and axle package. I will make you a great deal.

you can't loose with either one . I checked with strange and I have 600 hp sml blk , They said the 31 spline would be fine so l,long as I wasn't always using slicks. So thats what i bought. And scence you already have it your one step further along.

In the picture it shows the tub with a couple of coats of black primer. I will put flat black paint on top of that.

After a long time of "not much going on", I finally decided on the chassiworks fab9 housing. I think it's a pretty cool unit.

First things fiirst. I started with a pinion center guage to get things going. The guage takes the guess work out of figuring out the tube lenths.

After cutting the tubes, I just tack welded the DSE brackets on.

A quick mock-up to check everything before the finishing welds.

Here's a couple of buddies that helped me hold everything correctly.

The panhard frame bracket turned out to be the most work for me. I had to give it some minor adjustments, but it finally came around. At first I just didn't like the way it stuck out into the wheel housing. A few ours of TLC took care of it

Here's a couple of shots looking down the panhard bar toward the bracket.

Just a few more goodies and it's a roller! I'm thinking a 370-ish 31 spline posi unit with Willwood brakes. Thanks for looking.

Looks great. Good choice on the rear too. I do need to ask 1 question though, as I am in the process of the same set up with a more aggressive 4 link attached to my FAB9 in my 46 ford Ratty coupe, is about the solid rod ends on the coil overs .... let me know if they are up to the task of street driving.

Sure thing. I'll make a note to update you. It may be a while though, because I'm strictly cash and carry on this project. Hec, you may be the one updating me. LOL
Post a picture of it in here somewhere; I'd like to see it.
Thanks to everyone for your kind words.

I'm pretty sure they will clear but that's a question best answered by DSE.
Believe it or not I started a vending machine route as a side business and today it helps pay for the toys. Go Pepsi!!! LOL
