C6 Zo6 wheels on 68 Camaro?
Im wondering if i could fit 18x8.5 zo6 wheels up front on my 68 camaro with ats tall spindles and stock upper and lower control arms. I know i will need adapters for this. I had 17x9.5 zr1's that just werent working for me but these are an inch narrower and a little taller so they might clear my control arm. Has anyone done this? I really would rather put on some fikses or forgelines but i cant afford it so knock off vette wheels will have to do for now.
thanks
Jesse

Hi Jesse,
I recently bought C6 wheels, which I beleive are 1" narrower than Z06 wheels? Anyway, I now have stock OEM tires mounted on these rims, which are 18x8.5 and 19x10. Backspacing is roughly 7" and 8.6" F/R. I will be buying adapters soon.

Anyway, I see you live in Arlington Heights. I'm in Mt. Prospect. You are more than welcome to come over and check them out and/or mock them up.
06-26-2008 #3The ones i am looking at are 18x8.5 as well. Im thinking they will work but would like to be sure. last year i ordered zr1's and eagle f1 tires to find that they dont fit. They were too wide. I wonder what the differance would be between my camaro susp. and the chevelle susp. My prolem was the wheel hitting the upper control arm.

Jesse,
I can’t imagine that these wheels would not work. Again, you are more than welcome to make a template off one of my wheels.
Just wondering, where are you planning on buying adapters from?
06-26-2008 #5The only adapter place i know of is skulte. How would i go about making a template off your wheel?
thanks

Cardboard or posterboard?

Or make a template based on your suspension and bring it over?
Did that make any sense?
07-02-2008 #7I think ive decided to go with a different wheel. Im always changing my mind. But thanks for the help, i do appreciate it!

No problem. What wheel did you end up choosing?

07-03-2008 #9Well i have wheels on the car right now, they are just stock rallys but ill be buying wheels in a few months. Ive just been trying to figure out what it is i want. Im either going to get torque thrust II's or spend a little more and get CCW's. I really want a big dish in the back.
