well for anyone that does not know im building a pro touring car. this is a mix of new style suspension, brakes, interior in a older car. it handles, stops faster, accelerates quicker and has a faster top speed than most things on the road.
the goals for the car are ....
11.0@130mph
60-0= less than 110ft
0-60 < 3 sec
20mpg on pump gas (ie. 91 octane).
1100hp VERY mild mannered street car.
easly obtainable with the right parts.
few specs on the car.
1970 Z28 camaro (yes it a real z28) no clone here
505cid twin turbocharged BBC 2 t70@14lbs(93oct) or 22psi on E85
700r4 overdrive trans.
12 bolt rear 4.10 gears (3.55 soon)
13"front 2 piston calipers- 12"rear 2piston calipers
SC&C uper control arms. boxed "stock" lower with DEL-a-lum bushings
all Autometer gauges,led indicators
7" HID conversion lights
Stern ST-7 bmw wheels. custom fit.
pro-car seats (racing stlye but confort)
6pt roll cage with dual 5pt harness
tangerine orange paint, black stripes
QA1 coilover with 650lbs springs
250 lb/inch rear leaf springs ( poss airride airbar setup comming)
the car is getting out of drag mode setup.
front are 275-40-18 and the rear are 315-40-18
wheels are 18*8.5 in front and 18*11 in rear.....
yes that is my fat hand in the way.....only covers 1/2 of the front. tires are sumitomo. cheap....as well.

for those wondering they are mp70 .96/ar for each bank. 60mm wastegates on each bank, and 50mm bov going through an custom 850 carb. im getting a FMVB 4l80 built to replace the 700 that is in there now. the headers are 2"id pipes into a 3" collector to the turbo. 3" downpipes and mandrel bent exhaust with full mufflers.

its almost done. front end is on and aligned. suspension needs to be setup and aligned. needd to mount the tranny cooler, finish wiring, polish stainless trim pieces, emblems, paint stripes, wet sand and buff the car, install front spoiler. a few more days. school is almost out so i wont have students and will be able to get more done in the coming days.
here is the pic with the hid's installed.

What are you going to use for center caps? I have hear that on the front the hubs are too long to use the flat BMW caps. It looks great though for sure.

I hope with 1100 hp you turn better than an 11.0.

Agreed, that would be pretty disappointing! Love the car though!

those were conservative measures for the car. the center caps are another story. by machining out the center bore of the rim you cannot use the BMW flat cap. i powdercoated the whel bearing cap black and it protrudes through. you can hardly tell, it actually looks better than you think. i will get some pics and post them up later.
thanks for all the kind words.

here is a few at a local show we sponsered. the car was completed jsut enough to start and drive on the trailer. no cleaning or prep. the front is about 3 inches lower and the car is now much cleaner. i still need the stripes and other little stuff. i has a nice 1100rpm idle and the turbos spool about 2500rpms. im inm the process of a large write up with part numbers and other detailed info about the conversions, little problems and the poor mans way of pro touring. :bowtie:

definitely an impressive build with impressive goals.
I'm not sure that a 275/315 tire setup will get that >110' braking goal though. (maybe with a softer tire?)

Read his goal of 130mph trap speed. Obviously he is not shooting for stellar 60 foot times, which would be needed to go quicker. With that being said, I think 10s are doable.

Very nice.. My daily driver 06 Dodge diesel 2wd ran low 11's at 131 in the quarter on street tires. 60's were horrible. The first eighth mile was a balancing act to make it hook. This car should feel sooo good on the top end. It will feel like you're driving on ice.. Again, nice build..
