are you kidding me? if you're able to outdrive a ferrari, you deserve to be a professional. if you can afford to drive a ferrari, you can finance yourself. who thinks so much of themselves that they need new wheels that will make 'all the difference'?

I'm thinking you'd run out of kidneys long before you had a full set of wheels. Those are sweet.

Ouch....9000 for a wheel that weighs the same as any other wheel out there. If I see the numbers right on the scale...thats not light at all..there are several Rays Engineering wheels that weigh considerably less....and cost considerably less.
As for the "if you can why not"...view the following...2 million dollar wheel..lol

I can get you a deal on Forgeline racing wheels, hell of a lot less then those carbon fiber suckers, and Forgelines are some of the lightest aluminum wheels you can buy. That is why so many race teams are making the switch. nothing is lighter or stronger then a Forgeline, Fact!
Also, rumor is that Dymag is having some QC issues!

I see no need in the world to spend that sort of dough on wheels, regardless of brand name. I like the wc3, but not well enough to spend 4k on them when pretty much (meaning closley resembling) same wheel can be had for much less. Besides, I seem to only like the stuff noone else does, and have my heart set on some Volk te-37s. thanks though, Ill keep you in mind for some of the other things, as you seem to be a cool guy, and know your stuff.

So I started looking just to see if I could prove myself right, and Im certain I did. Now some will argue with me on fitments, but this was just a quick search to see if I could get close to the same wheel, and spend much less.
Forgeline wc3...18x8....$975 weight....21.23
Axis Penta.......18x8.....$325 weight....21.25
Sportmax 006...18x8.....$275 weight....21.66
here are some links
http://www.forgeline.com/index.php
http://www.axiswheels.com/wheels.php?id=penta
http://www.xxrwheels.com/sportmax_006.shtml
Now these are only wheels that closely resemble the wc3, but are close enough that I think some would start looking at different choices.
Im certain there is a reason so many people like this wheel, but for those on a budget...there are some alternatives.
*EDITED* by myself..wasnt trying to start a flame thread!

I have nothing against Forgeline, except that when I called, and told them what I needed, and told him about my project....he laughed in my face, and said "Why would you build that?"[/quote]
Rudejester.s10, I am concerned about the treatment you apparantly recieved when you spoke to one of our guys here at Forgeline.
Would you be willing to call or p.m. me so that we could discuss it?
Our customer service is very important to us and I would like the oportunity to make it right for you.

well the axis wheels arent nearly the same quality as forgeline...
from axis' website
Each set of spokes on the Axis Penta ends with a pair of simulated rivets that give a multi-piece look that is made more real by the offest finish of the polished lip
they are just for show, they arent even multi piece wheels...well lets see, it just became a whole lot more expensive to replace them! and guess what, do a quick search on Axis, and all the import guys dislike their quality...
it is a quality issue. You won't hear me complain very often about certain wheels being sub par in quality, but with Axis, it is sub par in quality

very similar story with xxr wheels... you wanna know why you pay more for forgelines?
Quality. Plain and simple. You have guys like Frank who will sell you not just an amazing set of wheels, but if there is the slightest problem, they wont stop until it is fixed. I have no affiliation with niether Frank at Prodigy, or Forgeline, but their wheels speak for themselves. Its embarassing to actually compare Axis and XXR Wheels to Forgeline, they are in completely different leagues. Ultimately, you get what you pay for. Forgeline you get a whole lot more.

Well, I see....I made my apology for almost turning this into a flame thread....edited my post to remove it...and then you show up and call me out...
Maybe, MAYBE, You get more with forgeline...if they want to help you with an odd one instead of laughing in your face.....buy all of them you want....it wont mean jack**** to me bro.
I merely mentioned these two since the topic got turned to prices, one of those things that irks my ass in the "Pro-dollaring" segment of hot rodding. Same as it was with Pro-Street, same as it will be for a long time to come. I merely mentioned them to show that the carbon wheel wasnt light at all, and that there were several other wheels that were just as light when someone brought up the weights...."I can get you a deal on Forgeline racing wheels, hell of a lot less then those carbon fiber suckers, and Forgelines are some of the lightest aluminum wheels you can buy. That is why so many race teams are making the switch. nothing is lighter or stronger then a Forgeline, Fact!".......my point was that "I"...meaning moi...dont feel the need to spend that much on wheels......its ridiculous. Whats embarrassing is the way you guys preach on about how you welcome everyone with open arms around here....yet love to crawl up someones ass if they dont agree with someone!!!
Oh and I am certain that there has been issues with Forgeline too...dont act as though they invented the wheel!
