I'm at the point where I need to get suspension pieces on order, however I'm going back and forth on SC&C's AFX upgrade using the tall spindles, or going with the Stage 2+ utilizing the factory spindles and the tall ball-joints.

Now, under normal circumstances, given the minimal cost increase, I would obviously go for the AFX spindles.

However, my issue is that I already have discs on the front of the car utilizing the factory style spindle.

If I go with the AFX spindle I will have to purchase a new front brake kit.

Granted, the front end disc kit I have installed is just a simple Master Power Brakes kit, so upgrading would be decent.

Given the cost involved however, in your mind is the AFX spindle that much better than the Stage 2+ which would end up being quite a bit cheaper not having to purchase new brakes for the front.

Car will primarily be used on the street, but will see a couple HPDE, and auto-x events per year.

I'm in a similiar position except I have the taller UBJ's and SC&C UCA's. Since my car is a street car 9x% I'm very happy with the results so far. Now if/when there's ABS to go along with the AFX setup...hmmm.

I believe that Marcus has stated that the AFX setup beats the taller balljoint setup. I would call him since he is a straight shooter and will lead you down the right path.

If it were me, AFX. Also, have you bought rims? AFX spindles narrow the track width slightly (~1/4" per side) so that is something else to cosider.

No, I have not purchased wheels yet. New rear-end and discs out back will change things slightly as well. So I need to get all this stuff in the car before I can take measurements for wheels.

I'll give SC&C a call today. Thanks.

...Which offsets the hat thickness of the late model brake systems. Gross numbers show you a TW change by 1/4"... but the hat thickness on a few aftermarket systems is nearing 1/2". So you actually gain 1/4" per side in TW...
