How do i get dash pad off? 68 Firebird

A while back my friends were helping me strip the entire interior while i was working on the engine and they got my dashpad halfway off. I'm not quite sure what they did but it seems to still be attached by the windsheild but everything else is unattached. Any ideas?

i am assuming that the dash pad in your firebird is the same if not very similar to my 67 camro.. my dash pad just pushs up and pulls out.. mine might not have something holding it in like it should but it is tight as heck..

your might just be wedged in there... i could be wrong ..

Check under the dash. There might be some nuts on the studs that go through the top of the dash.

A 68 Camaro dash pad has studs with nuts under the dash. The 68 runs down the outer ends of the dash unlike a 67, these extensions don't have nuts, there are studs that snap into rectangular clips that snap into the dash. I don't recall if there are one or two studs per side, but you should be able to just pry the dash pad out after removing the nuts. I'm pretty sure the firebird is the same as Camaro.

Thanks for the clarification Dave. I have a 68 and thought they were the same.

Firebird comes off the same way as Camaro.
