Car is on Air Ride which makes it possible to adjust ride height and spring rate. Front sway bar was connected the whole time! This is the same combo I auto cross with. The only bolts I turned wrer the lug nuts.lol CCW was able to make wheels to fit over the big brakes. I was able to run a 10.60 on motor with a 3k stall. The Twist Machine Muscle Drive converter works awesome in every situation, street, auto cross and drag! What more could you ask for.
Jake's Rod Shop builds a hell of a car!

10.60 on motor?!?!?!?! What's the nitrous shot gonna do to it? Shoot you to the moon? Good lord that thing looks great going down the track. I wish I could make it to RTTH to check that monster out.

nice drivin vinny. car should go 9.50's with ease on a 150-200 shot, we got the progressive controller for it so we can dial in the nx where we want it to come on, the controler is killer because you can shut the nx off a few hundred rpm before rev limit so things stay together longer.
look for some 9.50 passes soon, and or 6.30 to 6.40 in the 8th

same wilwood 13/12 brake package as he runs everyday, ccw's drag package wheels, ccw specializes in late model vette/viper wheels thus they offer this drag package which clears big brakes.
rocket-no that pass was all motor.

Very cool stuff. I love cars that run hard. Could be the fastest all around Pro Touring car? Wait till you spray it! You are going to need 100 bottles, LOL!

I don't know I haven't had it on a dyno yet. May be I'll do it at year one. I heard they will have one there.

Yes they do. I went last year and they have 0-60-0, dyno, burnout contest, road course, car show, drag-strip, auto-x, I maybe forgetting something. It's a car-guys utopia, I only wish I could bring mine. I'll be there with Rubes and Bill, so well get a chance to meet. Last year was a blast and by far the best event I attended. Its the only event of its kind that I know of.

Those trap speeds and ET would probably put you in the 500-525 rwhp range. Good stuff!

Awesome times for sure. But lets not think it is EASY to go from 10.60's to mid 9's. I can assure you it aint that easy .
Frank I am sure you can chim in here on this situation.
At any rate very cool car Vin , I plan to do the same type of thing with the DEMON, PT and drag race. I am now planning twin turbos and plan to do much of the same things you are doing in your car . also desire mid 9's but on a drag radial .
Keep those updates coming on your car !!!!

Great run Vinny! nice to show some proof of the versatility of an AirRide system.... street, strip, roadcourse, autocross... See you at the Year One Experience. We will have our new 1st gen there, we can only hope to keep up!

while I dont doubt it , but mid 9's not sure. I am not saying no way it cant be done. There are just to many variables to get to mid 9's that just HP . Either way good luck , Get ready cause the DEMON's taking you guys down , LOL !!!!!

Big difference between making a 9.9x pass and 9.50s...It will be interesting to see what happens. Keep up the good work.
The car must be spinning the tires hard on the 1-2 shift. What is your 60 foot time?

Replay the video and listen to how early the car shifts. "Shocked" (the car) was chip'd 1000 rpm below it's true redline because Vinnie (the driver) is always chip'd at around 18000 rpm :lmao: So that's 10.60's without spray AND short shifting. 9.50's are a reach, but there's more in it for sure. The suspension can be better tuned with soft front spring rates and softer "90/10" shock settings. Heck, even the Streetfighter spoiler was set in the full upright position. It needs to be laid back.
Anyway, the real message here is that this full on pro-touring car has been well documented in pix and video excelling at auto-X, on the "big track" at Pocono AND running a 10.60. And its just getting started.

it does spin the 1-2 shift pretty hard. My best 60' was a 1.51 and ran a 10.65 . On the 10.60 pass it was 1.55.

I think mentioned something about the transmission acting a little funny on the shifts. Perhaps your converter is a little on the loose side as well. The reason I am saying all that is that your trap is a little off your ET. You are loosing time at some point in the run. I am not bashing this in any way, just offering suggestions to go faster!

yes it is spinning and hitting rev limiter on the 1-2 shift. at the drag strip, car was rev limited to 6600, and he was shifting at 6100 to avoid rev limit , however the 1-2 would still hit the limiter, although the 2-3 would not, he was crossing trap at 6000, motor should be spun up to 7400 rpm, and shifted at 6800-6900, so you tell me whats left on motor.
the converter is a 3000 stall, thats a little loose but cruises well at 2200 rpm.
motor is 496 ci, 10.9-1 35 degrees timing could use more but on street it is at edge on 93 octane when 95 out

Stall speed is 3000 rpm. Can't really go much lower with this engine or the car will surge at idle. Wouldn't want to anyway. If anything, a higher stall converter could be used to launch the car at 4K. But then the car will not autocross or road race well. As for a lower stall, listen to him foot brake it. No revs at all. The car wants to push past the tree at 2600rpm. It's a compromise. But a compromise that yielded 10.60's.
For the most part, low trap speed is due to short shift. New redline for Year One outing is 7400. Manual mode will be employed to compensate for wheelspin by short shifting the 1-2 and then running it out in 2nd and 3rd. All runs here were full automatic. The Compushift controller has three modes: 1) Automatic, 2) Full Manual (works exactly like a manual valve body using the ratchet action floor shifter. Only, unlike a manual valve body, you get to put it back in automatic mode) and Switch Shift (automatic plus on-the-fly paddle shift control).
Year One testing protocol looks like this:
-Suspension tuning
-Transmission tuning and mode comparison
-Nitrous
-Break Stuff
-Push Car On Trailer
-Buy Winch For Trailer

nice car and great times! I definitely see mid to high 9's in the future.
The auto cross video is cool too, looks like fun hangin' the ass out at will!
Vinnie, my hat is off to you man. I was there at RTTH3 when you drove thru the Hills,...I was there at the Auto-X and drag-strip.
Running 10.60's is outstanding. Well done man! Congrats. Excellent motor!!!
I wouldn't be surprised if you had 550rwhp. We should start a Poll like Steve did for the PHR Fairlane! :)

Thanks. I'm going to try to get it on the dyno at year one, if not when i get back. I think i might be pushing my luck with doing all the events at year one and getting it on the dyno...lol
We should do a poll. I'm hoping for 525 to 550 rwhp

3485 with fuel, 3685 with driver.
no use trying to figure out rwhp, he was shifting at 6100, and motor redline was 6600 and he was going thru the traps at 6k, motor revs should be 7400 and shift at 68-6900, he was hitting rev limit on 1-2 shift also, car probably has a few 10ths left in it n/a
cam makes peak power at 6800-7000.

Wow its nice to see a car built right and used hard. I am very impressed with it. Keep up the good work man. I am hoping to make it to RTTH this year ans see some of the great cars form this site in action.

Nice car and very good times. 130 mph at the traps is cookin' for being on the motor. My dad and I drag race our cars a handful times a year, his is mostly drag only and runs 10.2x at 130, while mine is mostly street and I ran 11.0x at 121, although we have 406 sb's. But for you being in full street trim except for tires, that's very impressive. The motor sounds stong too. Gotta love those AFR heads, that's what we both run too. :headbang: :twothumbs
