Trunk mount battery progress

I made progress on my trunk mount battery with the mount, disconnect and solenoid bracket. All stainless, so it still has to be polished.

Your battery mount looks great. What amperage battery are you using? What gauge wire are you using for your positive lead to the starter?

The battery is 900 amp. The starter cable is 1 gauge. I used 3, 8 gauge power distribution cables. One to the trunk, one to the dash and a third to the engine bay. I got the linkage for the external shut-off done today. I'll put up pics of it this evening.

I started with a gun cleaning rod and handle and dipped the T handle in red Plastidip

I used an 8-32 stud, 2 3/16" brass compression ferrules, and an acorn nut.

I drilled and slotted the disconnect switch handle

Are you interested in making another to sell? If so how much would you sell one of the complete brackets, minus battery, solenoid & swi8tch for?

This may be a dumb question but why the extra solenoid? And is the disconnect on the positive side or negative side?

Nice work. I really like the formed box.

I've wanted to do something similar, but running the rod through an unused bumper bolt and using a quick-connect for parking lot safety.

The solenoid on the starter isn't used. Similar to the Ford with the solenoid moved to the trunk. The disconnect is on the positive side.
