Covan center gauge console. Anyone install one in a '68 Camaro?

I have one of these for my '68 and I'm not sure what is the best way to mount it. There are no screw holes and I'm afraid to screw it up. Do none of them have mouting holes or is it just mine?

Larry I'm glad you posted this as I was going to when I got to this stage. I have one of those two, just like in the picture and was wondering the same thing.

Did you get the inch and 5/8's or inch and 7/8's gauges? I got the big ones.

If I remember correctly on the center dash cluster I took a little piece of sheet metal or aluminum and cut tabs on it that would slide into the plastic piece that screws on near the top of the dash. Then I epoxied it to the back of the gauge cluster. I drilled two holes in the bottom of the center cluster under the bottom radius and lined them up with the stock holes in the bottom of the dash, or I might have drilled new ones in the bottom of the dash.

Of course I never thought to take any pictures of this.

Still a long way to go but they are in. I just installed a screw from the back side and aligned the Covan unit where I wanted it. Then I just pushed hard on it to dimple the back side. I then removed it, drilled through and countersunk the front side for flat head screws. I need to countersink it more but here is the basic idea.

I wish the gauges were not so high. This is my view when sitting in a normal seating position. Maybe I need one of those small diameter chrome steering wheels? LOL!

You can put the other three on a three panel (available thru Autometer) under the center dash. Then you can also use the offset bezel rings to create the angled view like the center dash panel. Plus, the fastner spacing is perfect for it...

I made mine to use the stock mount. I'll try and find some pics. I may have posted some on here previously. What I basically did was take an old beatup stock panel. Cut off the top chrome piece. Then epoxied it to the back of the Covan panel. You can then mount it like a stock panel. Hope this helps. But I'll look for some pics.

Found a pic on another site that someone else posted using my idea. This should help a little. Not the best pic. I may try and pull mine out of storage and take a better pic.
