Typo Shoulder Belts, not should belts. Anyone install shoulder/lap belts in a 2nd gen F-body or anything else with original lap belts? I'd like to upgrade the rear to shoulder belts for my kids when we go for weekend drives. I already have 2001 Camaro front and rear seats. I know to properly anchor the belts I'll have to add some metal for support. I don't mind doing some fabrication work if needed.
Anyone do this already?
Anyone have ideas?
I'll be upgrading the front belts as well, since they currently have the PIA non-retractable double buckle shoulder and lap belts. I will either install a set from another vehicle (not sure what yet) or the Morris belts from Summit.
Thanks in advance...

You might be able to adapt something similar.

Sorry, don't have the mandatory Camaro, but I did install rear shoulder belts into my '71 Mustang for my son. I took some doing; and a lot of head scratching to make it work out right. I hope you can weld.
I started by making a bracket that welded onto the top of the wheel tub at the clamsell seam and extended across the top inboard. It is welded along the periphery as well as with rosette welds. This is where I attached the retractors. In my car these tuck in behind the interior panel. The upper shoulder attachment I placed in the upper C pillar and had to fab the bracket for this also. I used the bracket sent with the kit to anchor the end to the floor. I moved the anchor points for the latch portion further inboard toward the driveshaft hump for a more comfortable fit. They work Super!!
The hardware I ordered from Juliono's. They are reasonably priced too. The rear belts had to be modified from "standard" and that tacked a couple of extra bucks. I ordered the standard kit for the front and tried them for the back and found that I needed them shortened and needed different ends for the latch portion. The lady on the phone was super to work with. I would definately order from them again. I will try to post some pics when I can.
As far as the fronts, that is post for another time...
