Help me pick out a set of wheels!

I'm trying to find a set of wheels I like. I was set on some of Wheel Vintiques Billet Rallyes but they don't look like they are going to fit my brakes.

      Here is what I have:
Stock sub-frame with AFX spindles with Touring Classics big brake kit (12.7 C5 rotors). Rear axle will be a Moser 12 bolt, probably go with the TC kit for the rear as well (12" rotors). Fitment for the fronts seems to be the issue.

I am looking for 17/18" wheels that are available in 11/12" wide for the rears (going to mini-tub) and 8" wide for the fronts. Planning on running Michellin PS/2 335 in back, 245 front (or larger, depending on what I can fit in the front).

I am hoping for something below the $600.00 per wheel price range. Something that looks good but still goes with the period look of my 69 (why I liked the Billet Rallyes so much)

Here is the best pic I have of the side of the car atm for reference (it is apart right now):

Any suggestions and/or pictures are definitely welcome. Thanks in advance!

Your $600 budget will limit your options, due to your criteria needed. The 11" wide wheels will either require you run a stepped lip 2-piece wheel (Torque Thrust II, etc..) or a 3-piece smooth lip wheel. The 3-piece 18s will typically hover in the $3K range for a set. You should be able to do a set of 18" stepped lip TT2 type wheels for under your budget though.

For the retro look, I'd suggest some gray centered TT2s for that paint combo. I had them on my orange '69 convertible. They were inexpensive and look "right" on the car.

Exactly what Tony said. The 11" wide rears takes two piece billet out of the question since the rim hoop would have to be a special build. That's doable, but it's $$$. If you're interested in 3 piece billet and like any of the Intro 3 piece wheels let me know and I can get you a price quote.

call jon at driverzinc. the rushforths he sells will come in under your budget, but that of course depends on the options and widths you want.

also, that 335 is going to put you in the 12" range. i dont think it would fit on a 11. jon talked about a company now making hoops up to 12", so call him and see how much more those will run you. no need to run a 3 piece, unless thats what you want or if their close to the same price.

I love the Intro Titans. If I hadn't had the Ram 5's I would have bought those.

Special thanks to Frank at Prodigy, I called Frank up and he suggested Boze Forged in 17x8 and 17x11 that wouldn't break the bank and should fit on my front brakes.

So far I think I have narrowed it down to 4 styles, been trying to find pictures on a 1st Gen Camaro but not much luck:

      Boze Wedge 5:

      http://www.zeforged.com/wedge5.html

      Boze Muscle:

      http://www.zeforged.com/muscle.html

      Boze Five Speed:

      http://www.zeforged.com/fivespeed.html

      Boze Benton:

      http://www.zeforged.com/benton.html

Thinking of maybe going with the Brushed or perhaps the Metallic Silver or Gunmetal centers as slightly darker center seems to look good with the Le Mans Blue paint.

Any opinions on which rim or color center?

If you're interested in going with a stepped lip rim instead of a rolled lip we can can do a 17x11 in any of our wheel styles for a reasonable price as well and clear C5 brakes. I guess when I made my post above I assumed you were after the rolled lip outer hoops.

If you are looking for a classic style 5 spoke check out the Rushforth Concept 1 wheels. Heck, if you want to see them on a car I am not that far from you. I know how hard it is to pick out wheels and it really helps seeing them in person.. Let me know.

JButlr, really appreciate the offer, they are great looking wheels but I think they are a bit out of my price range.

I been looking at Google Images for pictures of wheels on 1st gens as well as the wheel simulators on Newstalgia.

But thanks again for the generous offer

Like this.... Doing my Challenger the same way only I am using 17" AR TTO's...much less expensive but only come in 8" width right now. Needed the extra money for my '66 GTO resto.

Well one of the advantages of living in Southern California is that many wheel manufacturers are located here. So I went around to Budnik, Boze, Vintage Wheel Works, Intro Wheels and Rushforth and actually looked at each of their wheels in person. What a difference, I found that the mesh style has really grown on me and what I liked on the web was very different in person.

Special thanks to JButlr for suggesting such a good idea!

Now think I have narrowed it down to:

      Wheel Vintiques v45s

      Boze Pro-Tourings

      or Intro 311s

I really liked the mesh style with a brushed and clear coated outer lip with gunmetal centers, that is what really brought that style out for me. The mesh style has more modern look and more represents what I am going to do to the car, but the V45s have that more period look which goes well with the sleeper look I originally envisioned.

I do have to say thou that the Rushforth wheels are pretty amazing, just out of my price range based on the widths I need.
