Transmission lines to header clearance

I installed an external transmission cooler with braided lines. I have the lines running between the fender and inner fender. My question is, how more distance is needed between the header and the braided lines. The car is a 69 Camaro, I have at most 2 maybe 3 inches.

That's fine. I run mine along the oil pan rail--so they run between the header and engine. Remember that controlled heat is good for trans fluid.
