Trans am or GTO seats in first gen Camaro???

I have been throwing around the idea of putting front and back seats ouf of a 02 trans am, or 04+ GTO into my 68 Camaro Coupe. Has anybody done this? I was wondering if it's a fairly straight forward installation or if the seats/car had to be modified? I wouldn't think the fronts would be all too challenging, but the backs are my main concern.

Im doing it in my second gen...front and back. Front was pretty easy... Backseat seems like it might take some thought. The back seats of the gto's are just like the stock seats that came out of my car.

I have 4th gen trans am fronts in my 69, but kept stock rear seat. I had the fronts recovered in houdstooth to match the back seat. Trying to make the 4th gen rear seat fit a 69 is beyond my capabilities....:rolleyes:

yeah just have your stock rear seats redone in leather to match the front seats you are putting in.

hey if u decided to do this I have the full interior for a 05 GTO with 1893 Miles on it for sale. $1500 for fronts, back, door panels, rear side panels, and center console

What color? Got any pics? I was leaning towards trans am, but I might consider these.

When I researched this it looked like the GTO seats were too tall to fit in a first gen.

4th gen F-body seats are almost a direct bolt-in. You need to modify the rear mounting bolt locations on the seat track or just make new holes in the floor to line up. I used to have '02 Camaro seats in my '67 and in my '68.

I've heard the GTO seats are a lot more work to use in these cars. I think I remember the rails being too wide for the 1st gen floor pan or them sitting too high in the car. Not 100% sure on this, I've never messed around with GTO seats myself.

I do have a set of '02 Camaro seats that have just been re-upholstered in black leather that I'd be willing to sell if anyone wants them. The drivers seat is full power adjustable, while the passenger seat is manual.

Theyre black, You'd need to get custom seat rails that either lowered the seat, or do what I was gonna do and just take off the headrest. That was my plan.

Does anyone have some good shots of the GTO seats installed in a first gen too?? I have seen a couple pics but they all seemed to be kind of a work in progress thing.
