Hello I am new to this forum and was wondering if anyone knew if a 245-45-18 or 245-40-18 would fit on the front of a stock suspension 69 big block camaro..And what backspacing to use?? I have already figured out I can get a 275-40-18 on the back but cant get the front figured. Thanks for the help!!

Both those will work perfectly on the front of your '69.I'm sure several other wheel experts will chime in here.
As far a b/s is concerned,a 4.75" or 4.875" b/s will work nicely on an 8" wide wheel.5" will work fine as well, you'll need to measure however since every one of these cars are slightly different.
On the rears,a 5.5" b/s on a 9.5" wide wheel should be fine with either 275/40's or 285/40's.

you'll have no problem with those sizes, i'm running 245/40-18 on the front with a 2" drop and have no issues...

Your gonna rub some stuff with that backspace. You really need that 4.75 - 4.875 backspace on an 8" wheel.

Correct. No matter what size tire,4.5" b/s will be very tight...expect rubbing.

I have no issues other than with the frame at full lock running 17x8 with 4.5 bs and 245/45/17.

Oh Well here we go again. Does anyone know if this will work???
I know I can get 275/40/18 on the back with a 5.5" backspace. My big problem is that the wheels I like are B.S. Vintec dish, but they only come with a 4.5 backspace on a 8" or 7" wheel so my question is can I get a 245/40/17 or 18 on a 7" wide wheel with only a 4.5" backspace??Sorry to be a P.I.T.A and thanks to all for any help

No PITA man,you know the drill...measure twice, cut once.

I wouldn't run a 7" wide wheel in front,you won't be happy...trust me.
As was mentioned,an 8" wheel w/4.5" of b/s will work...but it'll be tight.
I have that same combo on one set of wheels for my Z/28's but every car is different.Mine clears easily except for complete lock-to-lock.You'll need to measure closely and your suspension has to be firm to pull this off.

I honestly think you'll be more happier with a 45-series tire in front and save the 40's for the rears.

yeah, I'd go 45 series up front as well like MC John said.
