changing column shifter to a floor shifter chevelle 350

I really dont think this is a hard process. I just need confirmation. My guess is I would to have a long enough shifter cable to fit the trans. and get some kind of connector??
Also I bought a factory floor console brand new. What ****fter do you guys reccomend? the original horseshoe or a BM or hurst??
Im quite sure you guys know. this is (I assuming) pretty easy...Thats why you're the classic Car JEDIs
