Its the high school project guy again, we were wondering if anyone has any knowledge of these semi gloss "Denim colors" that Harley offers. They have black, silver, blue and crimson red.

I think the clear that goes over the base coat has a dulling agent in it.

The colors are interesting and may make our project stand out in a dull way....lol

Is this and old idea or style of painting, or is it something not to be messing with on a pro-touring 67 camaro?

Any info or exsperinces would be great.

I believe this is what your thinking of: 08 Nightster.

These are base/clear coat with a "suede" finsh. It kinda' gives a tinted primer look, so the names new not the concept. Of course with the low gloss clear, it is completely protected from the elements, and I think it looks good on some cars. Especialy if the body is not laser straight since the low gloss could hide a lot of sins.
I remember Hot Rods project F-bomb was painted similar to this.

Yes your right not a new concept, we just thought maybe there may be some newer methods or developed paint that has hit the market in the last ten years.

Im really interested in that sued/semi gloss look...and the Crimson Red that HD offers looks very attractice....can this be acheived with any color.....Our first choice of color was 05/06 Ford Legend Lime, but once I or we seen the semi red.....we are now second guessing......aahhhhh

It's paint but shot with a flat clear instead of a bright clear. It's the latest fade, looks like prime but is actually paint with clear.
