Who has used both and which did you prefer? I can't stand to leave the 2.56 open in the convertible, so the parts are going in a box to save and a more respectable gear set is going in.

I have a truetrac in my car. I can't compare it to a clutch type setup because I have never had one in this car, but the truetrac works flawlessly and is super quiet (it is as quiet as the open carrier I had in the car before) . It pulls nice and straight in and out of corners as well as in a straight line. And you don't have to worry about wearing out the clutches with its helical gear setup, which is a plus IMO.

I also have a true -trac,and prefer it over a posi...
Tires would chirp when having a tight turn..tru-trac no chirp and the price was way better and I installed myself in 1/2 hr.
Only down side Iv noticed is a clunk sound every once-in-a-while when you hit an angle just right at a slow speed..Like when you pull into a gas station or over a slow speed bump in a parking lot.

The design of the tru-trac is superior to the posi. It out-performs, out-lasts, and is just all around better. It has the strength of a locker without the noise and jerkiness. It has the smoothness of a posi without the clutch wear. Best of both worlds!
