ok, same as one. actually early 890's S10. starting to do the research and amass the parts while looking for the right truck.
in digging around, ive heard many things about this front end design. my bidget is very, very low, as i am planning on competing in the GRM challenge. so that tosses out things like AFX spindles, C4 front end swaps, billet anything. gotta build the whole car under 2008 bucks.
i have a couple of different theroies on what will work well.
1. tall upper and lower ball joints, steel LCA bushings, big front sway bar, G-body Hotchkis springs, KYB monomax shocks. speedway motors tubular/adjustable metric chassis upper control arm.
2. tall B-body spindle, stock ball joints, the rest the same.
3. Tall upper and lower balljoints, B-body spindles, the rest the same.
what setup will provide me the best geometry and handling for the lowest cost?
next, when we figure out the parts going in, what should/can i run as far as brake upgrades?
remember, i have to build the entire truck for under $2008, so we have to use inexpensive stuff that will still do the job. i am planning on boxing the lower control arms to help with rigidity. so let me know what you think, and what will work best. feel free to make suggestions i havent thought about. think of this as a PT truck on the cheap.
