Anyone have any experience with Transcore Transmission in Chicago, Illinois for a builder or Dynamic Converters for a lock-up converter? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Robbie

The reason I asked is because an individual has that trans and converter for sale. He had it built for his car, and he ran out of money. It has never been in anything. I had never heard of the shop so I wondered if anyone else had.

Never heard of them, but that doesn't mean anything. If the price is right, you can always have it opened up and checked for little or no money. I have dealt with Bowler and Hughes, and have experienced a unit from Monster. All good stuff with Bolwer being at the top of the list.

We are located in Illinois, but I have never heard of the company. Like Steve said, if you can get it reasonable I would pick it up and then have it checked out. We can run it on our dyno for $100 + shipping. This would at least give you some piece of mind. Let us know if we can do anything for you. Take care.

I'm very happy with my Hughes-built 80E.

I missed out on the transmission. He sold it to someone else. I have a buildable core at the house, but I was asking the questions because the gentleman had it, the controller, and the converter for a great price. I have left a message with George Blake at Prime Gears to get started on a trans for me, but I can't get a message returned. A good friend of mine can build powerglides with his eyes closed, and I really think he could build one with just a minimal amount of guidance. I have a 94 case, and I have been told that they need some wiring upgrades when being rebuilt. I don't know what direction I am going to go. I may just sell the core and buy a trans ready to bolt in.

If you want to send us the '94 core that you have, we can freshen it up, put in the needed updates and get you ready to go. In fact if you put it on a pallet and give us a call we will arrange all the shipping. Since you have the core, that will save you some up front. The wiring update, is very simple. We just need to know some specs on the vehicle, how you want it built and what your budget is. We will custom build the transmission to your specs. Drop me an e-mail and I will get a quote worked up for you. Then you have something to go by. Thanks!
