when you buy a upper control arm kit for a chevelle do they come with a bracket that needs to be welded to the frame for the top mount on the coilover? i want to run both upper and lower tubular ca's and coilovers but not alot of install info or pics...if anyone has some i would def like to see them. thanks joe...........added note i just looked at some i have here and they dont have the shock type mount on top..i guess i cant use them. maybe thats why im confused.

It is not standard for a control arm kit to include coilover brackets. They are made to use the existing mount for the shock. Alston offers a coilover conversion that mounts to a standard shock mount.

I feel like I have read on the message boards here that it is a good idea to reinforce your stock shock mounts when using this setup.

Your other option involves more fab work. You would have to weld in an upper mount and modify your frame. You would then need to run a coilover specific lower control. Global west offers one.

The only pre assembled kit I have seen for this type of setup is the DSE kit for 1st Gen F-bodies that Mr. Quick references. You may want to take a look at that just to see what is required for this type of setup.

The QA1 coilover kit uses a cone style spring sits in the stock frame spring pocket. Global West makes nice control arms for the A-bodies. I would also look at ATS for their AFX spindles.

What upper frame mounts did you use for the coil overs or is it the pro-coil kit that Andrews talking about?
