HI All -

New to the site and was hoping to get some help. The painter is getting close on putting on the color and I want to get thinking about tires and wheels. The car will have lowering springs and I'm still debating drop spindles (mainly becuase I've heard it causes issues). I like the pro touring look but maybe with just a bit more meat showing around the rim. I'd like to use larger rims seen a few really nice pics on 20/22 combos and ws hoping someone could tell me what backspacing and sizes will work without rubbing issues - I like the wides in the back and filling up the opening.
Will have front disc brakes but probably going to leave drums. Any suggestions would be great pics even better. Thanks in advance!

I've got a '62 Belair, 2" dropped spindles,(McCaughy"s from Baer) I put 19" all around for the very reason of wanting a little more meat on the sidewalls. I'm running Pirelli's off a BMW 750 with the sport package, 245/45 19 frt., 275/40 19 rr. Intro wheels 19 x 8.5 and 19 x 10.5. When all these in fashion 25 and 30 series fade from style these OEM fitaments will still be available in the future and in the middle of some state...... when your stuck on the side of the road.

Looks good! That set of wheels always looks so much different when it's powdercoated versus polished.

PS - I'm going to guess that you're running 19x8 and 19x10 as we don't make 8.5 and 10.5 in a 19" wheel. Remember that width is not overall outside to outside, but rather bead seat to bead seat. An 8" rim will meausre about 8.5" in overall width.
