would like to know if anyone has ever used the v40 from vintage wheel work on a car with corvette c5/c6 brakes. and if so did you haft to use any spacers? any inof helps

I have the V45, which while curved spokes, are flat on the backside just like the V40s. They fit as is but are real close to the caliper. Where the center is welded to the hoop, the start/stop point of the weld lightly touches the caliper (C5 caliper). An 1/8" spacer would be a good idea (I am getting some for mine) since the calipers are floating, just so they don't get too cozy with each other.

randy thanks for the info just checked with vintage and they said they might have the 18in wheel line ready early next year so this might not be an issue any more.

The 18's will give you more room between the caliper and the inside of the wheel, but you may still need the spacer to get the clearance between the caliper and the spokes, which is where they are closest to each other.
