Mil-Spec bulkhead connector

I'm looking for someone who can build Mil-spec bulkhead connectors like Wires to Pliers built or where I can get the same parts that they used to biuld my own.

Amphenol makes industrial MIL-spec and aerospace connectors for almost anything. I've used them in industrial applications and they're very high quality to match their very high prices.

I would contact your local industrial electrical supply house and see what they have for punching through enclosures in washdown applications (like food and drug facilities)...they might have some more options that are less expensive than MIL-spec and aerospace are going to be.

if you use a mil-spec connector, make sure you get the correct crimp tool. also you can get the commercial equivelent of a mill-spec connector. usually alot cheaper than mil. i've been in aerospace for over 20yrs and spec and buy connectors everyday so if you need help let me know.

Thanks for the links there's a few other sites that I've been on just learing about the connectors and the pins, sockets, end bells, and boots . I want to learn as much about this as I can so i can do it my self.

I would like to run 8 12ga. wires for fan, driving lights, head lights, msd box etc. and 8 to 10 16 ga. wires for wiper motor, tps ect. I was on Cannon web site I think the 24/24 wall mount will work or should I go with two smaller ones. Dale I do need HELP.I would like wall mount in nickle with 90 end bells and shrink boots. Also I was looking at a used crimper for $100 at crimptools.com . What do you think

i'm sure i can find what you need in either cannon or amphenol, my catalogs are on my desk at work wony be back til the 7th. you'll want a backshell also for the connector, releives strain. the only worry i'd have for using a mil type connector is replacement contacts (you'll only be able to get them from the manufacturer), and cost (when i order from amphenol, there's a $1500 minimum). personnally i'd go witha weatherpack, but if you want cannon i'll see if i have some surplus when i return to work.

You could save a lot of money by properly sizing your wiring, which will downsize your connector requirements. 16 gauge for TPS? That's way overkill. It's almost negligible current, you should be running max 18, preferrably 20 or 22 awg for that.

I think you can insert 20 ga. wire in a 16 ga. pin. I need 8 12 ga. some 16, 18, and 20. What connector would you go with ( part #) and where would you buy it.( name of company) That is the kind of help I need.

You can, sometimes, but a smaller connector will always be cheaper so even moving from 12 to 16 can usually help.

I wouldn't bother with a true mil-spec connector in a car at all, if you really must know. Its a waste of time and money. Unless you have experience assembling them, you're inviting more problems than your solving. And, even if you get right, you still have the rest of the elements of proper harness construction that most people mess up.
