335/30/18 fit help, DSE Mini tubs

I bought 335/30/18 KDW's, new tread design, for my car that is being fitted with new quarters, mini tubs and outter wheel houses. (69 Camaro) My problem is I test fitted them in the wells and they have basically no side to side freeplay. They touch the quarters where the wheel well lip starts to turn downwards,to the rear, the forward lip is about 1/2". All this with the back side of the tire placed against and in the notch for the tubs in the frame. The quarters are not fully welded yet but I don't beleive I will gain room there. The fender lip and wheel house lip can be removed a little but that would be all the room I'd have.
The tires are not on wheels and measure 13 3/4 inches at the widest. I think the side wall might pull in a bit when put on the wheel. I am having my wheels widened and was going to go 12" but could drop to 11 or a half size to pull the side wall in more also. DSE said 335 was the widest to go with the tubs so I bought that size. Not their fault just didn't know how tight it would be. But my installer might not have given all the room I could have gotten with the tubs, but I'm sure it was pretty close.
If anyone that has these tires and tubs could tell me if it was a real close fit and needed a lot of clearancing it would help me decide if I just need to step down a size or two. I know the clearances are differant from car to but this tight. And I have an airbar rear so they will be going up into the well aways. The rear end is not made up yet so that isn't a factor. Please, any thoughts or info is appreciated. Thanks for the help in advance. Mull
I looked for othe sizes of KDW's but only found 295's listed at that site for them. Any sugestions.

You will be surprised how much the section width will change with a 12" wheell. Measure the bead and it is probably over 13". Draw it in to 12" and the section will probably change 3/4". If you go to a 11.5" rim, you will only gain another .2" in section as the gain is not as great after that first inch.

I actually spoke with dse about the same problem..
They said that on a 67 a 315 was the biggest without shortening
      the axels 2"
Dont know if this applies to 69 also
They did say that they cut alot of axels????
I am not up for doing that (keeping stock leafs) so even 315 are super tight with custom offset rims and shackles (17" with 7" bs)
      Good luck

If the tire hits the quarters and the outer wheel house, narrowing the rear end will do nothing to gain clearance.
