Satin Black that can be waxed?

Looking to paint the rear tail panel and the top of the hood a satin black that can be maintained. Any body know of satin black or satin clear? I looked at the Hot Rod Black but I don't think it can be waxed.

Your right, Dupont hot rod black is a single stage paint and can not be waxed. You can use Dupont's chroma base black. Dupont now offers clear in several differant clear options. from matt finish to egg shell. They are pre mixed and they can be waxed.

I have used that eggshell clear from dupont and it looks good. It is the First satin clear Ive used that came out the gloss or lack of that I wanted. Most others you have to add flattener until you get the desired look this stuff is right out of the can just add hardner.

PPG's DCU2060 clear works the same way. Flattening urethane is a losing proposition if it wasn't made flat at the plant. I wouldn't wax it, but it cleans up nice with soap and water.

Check and see if the Hot Rod Flatz can be waxed or not.

Usually an eggshell finish is in between a flat and a satin. It's not dull flat, but it doesn't give off a sheen like some stains will either.

And thanks for the info PRRC.
