Hi!

Are there any stock GM disk brake spindles that we can adapt to my friends -58....With aftermarket arms or a kit. He has several GM pat cars from the 80's

Anything can be adapted with enough fabrication and steering correction. One guy I'm aware of, Boris at Street Machinery in Euclid, OH has adapted the later modular GM short-spindle from the '68+ A/F/X-bodies to them, however he now typically just runs C5/C6 stuff with KORE3 kits designed for the 58-64 B-bodies.

If I'm not mistaken, you could probably use C3 brakes as the spindles are very similar between the two. By the time you make the necessary modifications and buy the 4-piston Delco Moraine calipers though, you probably could have gone C5 for less. Nothing from the 80's comes to mind as being anywhere near compatible, unless you're looking at drop spindles where they use the late-model G-body brakes...talk about barely being an upgrade.

Seems like our cheapest/ easiest option is to use early Camaro/ Nova brakes with a kit from one of these suppliers.
