I just purchased an 99LS1/t56 for my 67 Camaro profect. I am looking for advice for installing the motor/tranny into my car. I have looked at a few ideas for motor mounts and the oil pan but am possibly interested in notching the K-member instead. Has anyone done or heard of that being done. Thxs

Its possible. Unless you are running a rack and pinion unit your wasteing you time. The steering linkage will still be in your way.

I still have the rear steer linkage but had to use the S & P notched oil pan. The only notch we cut in the crossmember was for the A/C compressor. I left the accessories in the stock configuration to eliminate having to buy an expensive pulley setup just to move the compressor up high. We used BRP motor mount plates, but welded the stock pedestals to the bac of the crossmemeber to put the motor in the proper location. This was done before alot people like ATS came out with a whole kit to make it easier.
