A 245 would fit good on an 8" rim, but...assuming that you already have the wheels, I would go with a 235 to stick with the pro-touring vibe. Anything smaller, you might end up with the Fat 'n' Skinny look of a drag car. IMO.

well nothing is in stone yet I originally was gonna do 7 on the front and 8 on the back but as I looked up here I found that a 9.5 would go on the rear I only got 1 7" front I might just sell it and get a 8 and use a 245

I am running the same size wheel and tires as you on the rear and have 17x7 with 225/45 17's on the front. I have a '68 camaro and started off with 215/50 17's up front which rubbed a little, so I switched to the 225's.

If you look in the Wheel and Tire Database, you'll see that most of the 67's have 245's up front on 17x8" wheels w/ about 5" of backspace. One even has 275/35R18 tires up front, with 335/30R18 out back!!! (Just like Stielow's first-gens)

Mine isnt Mini tubbed so a 335 wont sqeeze on the back of my car wish it would:dunno: my car is still a "project" my first goal is to just get it back on the road which it hasnt seen since the 80's I just got it this year as pretty much just a rollin hull Im just keeping it basic right now.

The 215's rubbed and the 225's don't???

The 215/50-17's have an overall diameter of 25.46 in. and the 225/45-17's are 24.97 in. They were rubbing because of the height, not width.
