i will be heading across the big pond sometime next year, and was wondering if anyone knew a company that makes a speedo in kilometers instead of miles, or if they make a combo gauge that has both. i know this sounds stupid, but autometer only makes about 2 gauges from their entire line that has KMH. :banghead: not the style i am wanting. So far the only option i have found is digital gauges. i'd like to stick with regular gauges, but i'm not finding much. anyone have any ideas? thanks.

Can you run an electric speedo and program it in kph? Other than that, i've seen a thread where somone opened a gauge, pried the needle off, and replaced the background.

i don't think it will involve any programing. its mainly the background that i would need replaced. i could pry open a gauge and change the background, but don't know where i would get something like that...:hmm:

Lots of newer cars only have one scale but have a button to switch the units between mph and km/h. I bet similar ones are in the aftermarket if you look a little.

Autometer does, I bought mine from our local speed shop called Mopac Auto Supply:

I'm also looking for a metric speedo in 5" size. Already know the autometer gauge and the stewart warner.

I like the stewart warner more but I'm looking for something more classic. Kinda like that:

...but I need a KPH speedo - hard to find. Any ideas??

Sorry for the shameless plug, but all of the New Vintage gauges are available in KPH, or why not have a custom dial done with KPH and MPH?
A custom set usually costs less than some of the off-the-shelf solutions

The bottom one is Autometer American Muscle. It's now available in kmph. Check Jegs for pn 1288M. It doesn't show up on Autometer site though for some reason. Matching fuel/oil/water/volts also available. Just remembered that the 1288M is 3-3/8", they may have one in 5" too.

PM me if you are willing to open your gauges up. I can recreate the face in different colors and finishes..
