I like the Rondell #58 replica wheels shown on some of the cars on this site, but i recently contacted www.thewheelexchange.com (http://www.thewheelexchange.com) for pricing and was told that they are no longer importing Rondell. I tried searching google and lcated the company in the UK, but they don't list distributors. I sent an email asking for contacts, but have not received a response.
Does anyone know of another US source for Rondell wheels?

Here is a picture of the wheel I'm interested in. I would consider some OEM take-offs if someone could point me in the right direction with year and model information.

Thanks for the link Rob, but those are slightly different with simulated bolts/rivets. Also, I didn't mention before, but I'm looking for 17".

I found these, and while they are close, I'm afraid they may lean a little too much towards the import side. I'd need to find out if they are drilled for dual wheel patterns in five lug-wouldn't like that. Thoughts?

Those look like ADR knock offs really. Not really import-ish if you ask me.

Try O E Wheels on Ebay: http://search.stores.ebay.com/O-E-Wheels_bmw-wheels_W0QQsaselZ12101158QQsofpZ0
They have a fair amount of BMW and Corvette repros.

Found a picture of the five lug Sport Max wheels-they are dual drilled. They're available in 17x8 for $139 ea & 17x9 for $147ea though. Black or gunmetal centers. Tough decision.

Do they have these in the proper backspacing for a 68 Camaro? Can't beat the price!

Careful with the Sportmax wheels. I have a set on my 98 TA and the clear started peeling off after about 5k miles on them, and it was never driven in anything but sunny weather.
But the good thing is I have the first set of 962s, so I just chalked it up to a first run error. It is cheaper to replace the wheel rather than have it recleared, so I'll just do that and make a table or something out of my old ones. ;)

Those rims remind me of the BBS style rims.
If you want to broaden your search, you can try the companies below. They all have a similar style wheel to the Rondell. Maybe one of them will have the right bolt pattern, back spacing, width and diameter that you are looking for.
BBS
ASA Alloy Wheels
Borbet (take a peak at the BS rim, more of an open mesh design)
Also look at Work Wheels! They make a broad range of rims for Asian imports to German cars. The VS line up from them looks very close to the Rondell.

The offset is +35 which equates to 5.8 BS on 17x8 and 6.4 BS on 17x9 accoring to this site http://www.rims-n-tires.com/info_specs.jsp?text2=Sample%202:%20Honda%20Civic%2 0wheel&sw2=165&ar2=70&bd2=13&rd2=13&rw2=5.5&et2=40&text1=Sample%201:%20Hummer%20H2%20wheel&sw1=315&ar1=70&bd1=17&rd1=17&rw1=10.5&et1=10&pageTitle=Wheel%20/%20Tire%20Size%20Calculator%20/%20Comparer
I was thinking of sending them off to Weld Craft for widening the rears.:dunno: It still should work out to be less expensive than custom built in the sizes I want. BBS are nice, but quite a bit more.

El Camino-thanks for the eBay Europe link! I think i found what I'm looking for, the problem is finding a dealer in the US. The US eBay link you provioded was for The Wheel Exchange. They have two 17x10 available, but are no longer importing Rondell.
My German is very rusty-are these available without tires?

I received the response below. I asked if they could provide a US retail source and am awaiting a response.
Bret,
Thanks for the inquiry. We deal mostly with wholesale sales of Rondell wheels here in the USA. Were you looking to buy a set for personal use or is this an inquiry for resale?
Best Regards,

I really like the Rondell #21 (http://www.wheelexchange.com/products/wheels/brand/new_rondell/new_rondell_21_18x10.html), but haven't seen ANY thing on the net that sells them...

I never found another source for Rondel Wheels. It seems The Wheel Exchange was the only US importer and they are no longer carrying them. I have begun to look at other brands.

On Ebay there's a wheel called a Manaray that's 17x9 with a 45mm offset from campbellnelson that is similar as well.

Might be a bit out of your price range, but for we can do our ID313 wheels in just about any size and backspace that you want. We can do it as a 2 piece wheel which brings the price down quite a bit.

I am a newbie to this board but I thought I could assist on this one.
Those style wheels you are looking for are on 1999 thru 2002 BMW E39 5 series cars. That models would include 525i, 528i, 530i, and 540i. They are mostly found on 525i,528i and 530i because BMW dealers wanted to dress up the cheaper cars with nice wheels. They come in sizes from 17" inch to 18" inch. They are also refered to as Style 42 Comp wheels by BMW people. They mostly come in silver but gunmetal can be found but rare.
I manage a BMW auto recycler and see these wheels come in once in awhile.
I have a couple of the 18" ones I am going to try out on the back of my 1972 RS Camaro. If they work out I am going to have them sent out and have the lips polished.
I just bought the car a couple days ago and setting up for the build.
