I'm trying to remove the rotor from the bearing assembly. Is their a trick to it? I don't want to tear up the bearings getting the rotor off. Also, does anyone know the tourque specs on the bearings? I've never taken one of these assemblys apart, but I'm learning as I go.
Thanks

I'm guessing your asking about the front? It might just be rusted on. Must be a Blazer if it has a bearing assembly on it. I just changed the front rotors on a Chrysler van for one of my wife's friends the other day, and that thing needed quite a few hard whacks with the 5lb sledge to get them off.

thanks, it is the front. I just want to make sure I'm not tearing it up. I got my new rotors, now I just need beat it up with a sledge. Sounds like fun :)

anothertrick is dump old rotors and use a drill to make a hole near edge then use chisel to slpit the hat.
trust me if its stuck beating it will only trash it I am mechanic for living.
As for the bearing you shouldnt hurt it beating the rotor off as long as your not using over a 2 to 5 lb sledge and hitit with some penetrating oil.
But I ususally use a rota-broach to mnake several holes in the hat face than crack it and replace them with new rotors.

Thanks, Between working overtime & building a new front porch, I haven't messed with it yet. I already have the new rotors, I might work on it Sunday afternoon.
