Rear shoulder belts for 1st Gen F-body (GM) convertible?

Anyone install a set? I have two riders requiring car seats. Anyone try this? Pics? Donor cars? Thanks.

CarlC had a post in a thread a couple weeks back about what he did. I will try to find it.

Thanks. Sounds like he was able to take advantage of the fact it is a coupe but it does generate some ideas. If anyone else has information please let me know.

      I did IT!!

      Hey,

I did this with a four point harness setup. Here is the thread I started on this. It was great for my two kids who loved to ride around in my convertible. Best part was that with a booster seat the belts worked perfect!! The back part of the convertible is all one piece straight across so it worked out very very well. I used two big washers front and back to give the mounting points on the back seat plate plenty of strenght and the other two points connected great in the stock locations. Many will say that this is does not keep the kids from SUBMARINING out of the seat but hell it is TEN times better than those wimpy arse stock lap belts!! Looked really cool too! Here is the link

I will try to post pics of it if I can dig them out. Unfortunately the car is gone... I really miss that convertible...

      GOODLUCK!!

Not a problem, Here you go. Just keep in mind that I adjusted mine to be used with a booster seat for my kids. You can adjust them an infinite amount of ways depending upon how you want them to sit on your kids. In the picture it looks like the top is a little too far out but I adjusted them and they sat squarely on the shoulders of both kids. It really worked out very very well. Cool thing about it was that they could be tucked behind the seat and between the seats if you were at car shows, but I always left them as is.. People really liked the look and they were very very functional. Let me know if the pic doesnt come out right. SORRY ABOUT THE SIZE OF THE PIC IT IS THE ONLY WAY I KNOW HOW TO GET IT ON THIS SITE!!
