Ok my question is this.
Run a stock Tune Port 1990 350 TPI motor, or run a 1994 TBI setup. Both will have mild cams for either fuel system. Its going in a 84 C-10 SWB truck. Taking out the extra fuel hungry 383 in favor of some drivability with a little performance. I have access to either engine, just wanted to see what "ya'll" think.

Thanks

TPI.
I think I'd rather run a carb than TBI.

TPI. If it's for a truck with a mild cam I'm assuming you won't be revving it too hard.

I'm sure you can get the tpi to run at least a little better. But at least with throttle body injection you can actually watch and make sure the fuel is spraying out right, or isn't leaking when the engines shut off. I don't know how you would do that with tpi, could be more trouble.

Stock TPI set up is designed for Torque. The extra Tq would be help move the mass of a truck. The TBI is ok too, a throttle body spacer helps increase fule atomization.

I would definitely go with the TPI, more responsive on a truck with a broader torque curve.

The TPI motor powerband is great for a truck. They get reasonable fuel economy too. TBI - I agree with the earlier post - might as well use a carb.

i have a stock 92 trans am tpi (305) in my 85 LWB 1/2 ton chevy truck. if i were you i would run the tpi and leave it 100% stock. it will run better and pull harder. the only bad thing about TPI is the lack of aftermarket tuning. that makes things like cams and heads a pain to deal with.
