I know Germany has very tough testing required for any aftermarket part, what about the USA wheel industry??

I remember seeing Roland Sands showing some side load tests on their PM bike rims. Is there are testing done on auto rims?? Just curious with all the lower priced offshore wheels you see just about everywhere.

Bolting a set of wheels on a 500RWHP LS Camaro with 315's (seams to be the average car around here) has got to cause some load issues or throwing the same car into a corner at over legal speeds???

Load issue come from mass and MPH... not horse power.

Is there testing done ?? Sure. Its gotta conform to DOT standards which have been standardized and tested many times over.

Lower price and off shore = cheaper materials and lower quality (for the most part). There are some like TSW, BBS and others that are suitable and not at all a cheap build... but there are some that I wouldnt even consider for use on a Radioflier wagon.

It really comes down to the price of materials and the price of labor. Just like everything else in the world economy.
