Late model steering colum in an A-body

Anybody do this or seen it done on a 68-72 GM A-body?

This would great to take advantage of all the factory controls on the hweel and stalk.

It's next on my list, not that that helps you any. I've got the column from a late-model F-body (along with the complete harness) that I'll be putting in my Elky.

The top part with the protrutions for the controls will fit on a older column FYI.

the 4th gen F-bodys didn't have the wireing from the brake lamp switch that went through the steering column like the older cars did. this is how i wired up my camaro for it to work right so you should be able to adapt it to work on your car.

You should be able to swap the colomn from the pivot pins out with no difficulty.

I would like to use a llate model dash. However, from a few threads I read the F-body dash is 3" narrower than the space in the a-body and presents some chalenges filling the space.

I do want to use the entire gauge cluster etc. I will need a BCM that has 4 power window inputs for the A-body, this had lead to look for an escalade dash harness and BCM.

CamaroAJ- did you use power windows in your conversion?

i am going to be yes, the F-body harness is designed to work with and with out power windows (its a seprate harness than the dash but plugs in to it in two places) the BCM has nothing to do with the windows on it. your going to ask how i am going to tie the back windows in right? i'm not using the stock F-body switches going with an after market deal with 4 switchs and then going to tie them into the factory harness.

OK, makes sense, I also wanted to try the express down feature, that is why I thought it had to go through the BCM?

Is the expressodwn feature in yet another box?

I have a 2000 F-body schematic (from alldatadiy). I have to print out the sections I need and have not gotten to that.

well i guess you could buy 3 more modules and add them in the wireing and they all could be.

      That's helpful, thanks.

I thought the window control went through the bcm regardless of vehicle.
