in gettng the wife on board. Try dragging your project along as far as possible so she finally gives up and yells at you to "JUST FINISH THE DAMN CAR ALREADY!" Ok ma'am. Whatever you say.
The car just moved from the fab side to paint side and we just went over a rough estimate for the paint work and she was none too happy. But after telling her what other people charge she turned her anger from the paint guy to me for wanting to do this expensive project in the 1st place.

I heard the same words last year about this time. It went from complaining about how much it was costing to how much will it take to just get that thing done.
The wife was reluctantly on board. I had to tie her up and toss her on the ship kicking and screaming.
Good news is that now that my car is done, she actually likes to go to some shows and cruises. Hopefully yours will as well.

Yea, I'm not in that boat. I get the other end of it: "Hunny, I'm going to make sure you have a full size shop when we build our house and it will have a lift and paint booth because I know that's important to you"
you guys should really trade up.
Sisters!!! We need to know if your wife has sisters!

I think I found a cure. If you know what Dooney & Burke and Coach mean, then you know what I'm talking about. She doesn't seem as near as upset today.

You guys actually discuss price (the ever changing point of no return) with your wifes?
I would ask WHY, but someone might actually try and explain it to me.

I tell my wife I HAVE to because "it's my job" and that we can write off some on our taxes.. lol
She's a good sport about it.. as long as I buy her stuff too.

It's wierd that they are just fine with going to New York to Canal St to buy a Louis "Faux"ton or a "Foach" purse, but when it comes time for me to buy one for her...
And as far as ERNRONing the numbers, her degree is in business finance- with an emphasis in accounting. Can you say itemized receipts?
Honestly though, I have to admit she's been a good sport considering this isn't really a hobby of hers. I hope that when it is done she will start to enjoy al of the cool stuff that goes with it like cruising and car shows.

You have got to be kidding...
Are you a 'good sport' about her hobbies?

I'm all over the purse shopping. I can spot a fake Coach from a mile away thank you very much. And I support her reading OK magazine and celebrity-reality show watching as well.

I don't know anything about purses or purse shopping and I am surprised anyone here does either.
Whats a 'coach'?
Isn't that something made by Prevost?

They help keep the wives at bay.. at least long enough for some more work to get done on the car. MickMC was the one who wanted to know all about it anyway.
Some people haven't managed to pick up the note of sarcasm yet.

Yes, sarcasm
tough in type
funny in person
But helps some of us deal with the rest of life.
Want a ride in my Prevost?
If it wasn't for this third most expensive hobby (behind airplanes and Power Boats) I wouldn't need to work.
Yea, Marty keeps every receipt also.
I think a 'spreadsheet' is something from "El Vaquero"
If you don't know 'El Vaquero' think Roth.

My wife said to sell all of my computers if I want enough money for the car. "But honey, how can I practice my drifts and drafting then?" Also then, I can't post here!
