I am having a tough time deciding on a wheel size for my '69 Bird. I had decided on 18" but my friends are trying to talk me into 17". So if you have any side pics of a 1st Gen Bird with 17" or 18" wheels, please post them up!

Input is always welcome too. I have rear 3" drop springs and coil overs in the front. I am looking to get a little bit of tire up into the wheel wells.

Thanks,

Phil

I prefer the 17s on these cars, but I will probably be the minority. I think the 2nd gens look better with 18s.

18s all the way, plus its YOUR car not your friends so it really only matters if your happy with them.

It's most important that you go with what you like. You're the one who has to drive it and look at it all the time.

IM having trouble finding much of anything I like tire wise for my 18s If I had 9" wide 18s I could find more but with 8 wide Im limited. FYI

17s look proportionally better to me on 1st & 2nd Gen F-bodies.

I have 17s on my bird. You also need to consider what brakes you'll be running when choosing a wheel size. Not all 17s will accomodate a 13" brake package.

I agree i have both sizes for that staggered look. 17s front and 18s rear.

No brainer.... At least 18" all the way around. You need to fill up wheel well space. I even would like to see 19" on the car if they would fit properly.

I have 18's on my 67 Camaro and i think it's great but watch your back spacing. With a 3" drop in the back, you can get a 9 1/2" rim in the back with a 5.75 or 6" BS (6" is really close to the inner wheel well) and a 7 1/2 or 8" wheel in the front with a 5" BS. with a 7 1/2" in the front, you can really slam it.

i would go 19s all the way around. Fill in the wheel space to have no gaps between tire and fender.
