I am looking at a set of Hot Wheels sixty eight's from discounttire.com. Does anyone have these wheels? Are you happy with them?

I want to buy 17x8 for the front with 245 45 tires, and 17x9.5 with 275 45 on the rear. Will this fit? And what back spacing do I need?

Any information will be helpful

hi,
for the front the best choice is 225/45-17 or 235/45-17 for a good handling and feeling. and the rear is 275/40 ok. backspace 4.5" fits perfect

245s on my malibu, no scrubbing issues at all, even with the lowered springs, and the ATS spindles. Before that I had 255s all the way around, but did get a little scrub now and then.

What springs are you running?

I was considering 235 or 245-40/18's on some 18x8's up front for my 79 (SC&C Stage 2 w/Suspension Techniques 1"/640# dropped front springs). In a previous life, I used these springs w/some 2" dropped spindles & used a 24.68" tire (205-60/15 on 15x7 Ralley) & they didn't rub.

Not so sure how the 18's will work.

Suspension Tech springs are the ones I used. We also heated the rear ones to drop the car lower. I don't like that technique, but not a lot of options on the rear.

so you can fit a 9.5" wheel with 4.5" b.spacing on a 79' bu?

I have 18x10's with a 5" backspace on the rear of my '80....no notch just rolled the 1/4 lips a bit. The fronts are 18x8's with a 4.75" backspace

I've got 68's on my Challenger. The rims themselves are nice and the price was even better. I recommend the polished or black over the chromed.

Go for it!

We have put race seats in it this week to get ready for RTH3 this weekend. They will not be the same color but I will have good seat belts now to keep the driver planted in the seat. I will have some new pictures up in a day or two. Also we built a bar to mount the seatbelts to for the shoulder straps. Pretty cool one off piece that mounts to the b-pillar and is removable. Thanks for asking!
