i know this is probably a repetitive topic on here but i just want to see what people have to say about this..
ok i was cruising the interstate at about 80 when i heard a loud pop. my drive shaft broke at the rear end and tore up everything..my built th 350 is shot along with my driveshaft and a few other things...my car has been sittin a little while and i am not in the posotion to make someitning happen as far as getting it on the road again....i came across a 700 r4 that was in good shape when it came out of its 87 donor camaro..what all needs to be done to get this in my car..i have no experience with this swap and just want to make sure i am accounting for everything. any advice or things to look for will be apreciated.

You will need a shorter driveshaft (regardless of your current one's condition), a new crossmember, a way to disengage the TC when the brakes are applied and a good TV cable setup. Go to Bowtie Overdrives for a good resource:

With a 268xe the most you need is ~2000-2200. I run a "corvette" converter which stalls to about 2100. I could have it looser for better off the line, but it works perfect for the twisties and not feeling like I am overrevving on slow takeoff from a light/stop sign.

The 200R4 will require less mods and is a better trans. If you can find a donor this would be the best way to go. Your drive shaft and cross member stay the same you just mount the cross member back a few inches.

When I replaced my motor in my 86 Z28, I had to install a tranny controller. I got the cheapest one I could find. TCI from summit for about $150 i think. I had to get that professionally installed because it required the use of some sort of pressure sensor gauge. Also, you have to get a new TV cable. I got the stainless one from lokar. It was around $60 i think through summit. Other than that, im not sure about mounting. That tranny was original to the car, but the 305 that I replaced had all of the electronic components run by the Qjet. That is why I had to get the controller. Hope that helped a little.
