After almost 5 months of waiting and frustrating phone calls to both Street & Performance and Magnacharger, my blower is here. It is an intercooled MP122H Magnacharger, and is larger than the more common MP112's that are on most of the Magnacharged cars I've seen.

I installed my 90mm Holley LS2 throttle body and shot some pics. BTW, this blower is going on the modified LS1/6 that is in my '67 Camaro. I can't wait to get it installed and on the dyno. I'll be sure to give some updates as I install it.

Hey Andy,

looking good. What are your expected numbers? take pictures along the way during your install. Looks like a fun project.

Do they make this for an LS2? What mods do you have to do to the motor or do you just bolt this in and away you go? Do you have to run low compression heads or can you use stock heads?

Thanks Ron, it should be a ton of fun.

I'm expecting 525-550 rwhp and at least 500 rwtq when it's done. Maybe more depending where the boost ends up. There aren't too many guys running these bigger 122 blowers yet, but the results I have seen have been very good. This isn't a blower that is going to make huge peak numbers on the dyno, but a TON of usable torque and power under the curve.

The kit I got is actually based on an LS2 GTO system. It uses the 4 bolt LS2 style throttle body (I got a manual 90mm Holley) and will bolt onto any LS1/LS2/LS6 head & motor. They can make a kit to work with whatever belt setup you are using (vette. f-body/GTO or truck).

It can be bolted onto a stock motor (which is what Magnacharger's production kits are made for), but I wanted to change up some stuff. I changed my LS6 heads to a set of CNC'd Patriot LQ9 heads to drop the compression to 9.8:1 or so. It was not required, but it should allow me to run more timing/boost, or give me an extra safety margin for pump gas.

I think on a stock LS2, you can bolt one on and get away with 5-6 psi. Magnuson claims 20 rwhp per pound of boost, so that's still a healthy gain.

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I'm sure it's going to turn my car into a monster, which is exactly what I want. I've always wanted a blower for one of my projects, so I'm really excited about this. It should look amazing under the hood of the '67.

Thanks Andy,

I'm real envious of your car and your progress. Mine will be another year of so and hopefully I can save enough for one of these blowers. I'll keep an eye on your project. Keep the great posts coming.

I love installing magnachargers. I do alot of Mustangs and we always prefer a Magnacharger. They are very efficient as well, great choice.
