I finished up an engine/tranny swap, all new polly bushings, front suspension and brakes. Had it aligned last week and was riding real nice. Engine sounded good, drove it to work and took the wife to the ice cream shop this w/e (heheh).
Then today I decided to try a Holley carb today as the Edelbrock I had on there seemed to be acting up. Well, it fired right back up and sounded much better (smoother idle) for a min or so before it choked and puked the #4 piston/rod. Shes locked up tight a bleeding coolant out the headers. Grrr, hate when that happens.
:drive2:

Sorry to hear about your loss, on the other side it is much better for it to happen in your front yard than out on the highway where you could have experienced a much greater loss.

Yep, agreed. Maybe I'll learn something from it when I pull it apart and hopefully can tell what may have happened. I didn't put that engine together, so I didn't really know what was up with it anyway.
I've got a HT383 that can go in it. I had it set aside for the '68 along with a T56. Sounds like a perfect excuse to go with a big block in the '68.

I agree, nice thinking, similar problem when my SBC blew up, I had to get a BBC, or atleast that's what I told my wife, it's bigger so it should last longer.... hahaha
