      20" Billet Rally Wheels - 67 Camaro

I have a 67 Camaro on 15" Steel Rallys (Pics @ www.biigboii.com). All suspension is currently stock. I have money to purchase a new set of wheels and I am interested in Billet Vintiques Chevy Rally Wheels.

I have seen pics of jy211's ride. It's sitting on Billet Rallys...
      18x8
      245/40/18
      Diam: 25.7"
      Width: 9.8"

      18x9.5
      275/40/18
      Diam: 26.7"
      Width: 10.9"

Billet Vintiques makes a 20x9.5 and 20x8 wheel that I am interested in trying to fit on my 67 Camaro. Nitto has a tire (NT555) that has the following measurements...

      245/35/20
      Diam: 26.69
      Width: 9.65

      275/35/20
      Diam: 27.60
      Width: 10.91

I am probably dreaming and setting myself up for a crapload of problems trying to get these to fit in the Camaro wheel wells. It looks like from my measurements the 20s would run about 1" taller than the 18s.

Ultimately I need to measure for myself to make sure they will fit my vehicle. I was just wondering if anyone has attempted this on their First Gen Camaro. Any experience and/or pictures would be great.

I probably won't get a lot of response to this because most users seem to go with an 18" wheel for performance reasons. I am trying to put a big wheel on a Camaro which "most" people don't do...

      Thanks Guys!!

You're going to want to shoot for around a 26" tall tire IMO. I use to have 27.1" (255/50/17) on the rear of mine and it was very 'full' looking.
Another 1/2" bigger and you may have issues.

A few guys local to me are running the 20" rallies on thier cars, Sandro is one, Surreyboy is another on this site and Lateral-g I have pics of thier cars on my site: http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...nds%20Camaros/

Also here is a pic of a local 68 running them. Sandro knows all the specs on these wheels, if you search his username on lateral-g you will find them.

I think the 20s overpower the visual impact of that car instead of simply enhancing it.

Exactly my point. The car becomes secondary.

In my honest opinion I really like the 20" wheel on the Camaro. I will agree with you that it does overpower the visual look, but it looks sharp!

On the other hand... I can't see driving around on 30 series tires w/ aluminum wheels. You hit a pothole unexpected and your rim is gonna bEnD LiKe tHiS.

I went ahead and went with the 18" Billet Rally. Placed my order today for 18x9.5 and 18x8. I'm going to try and stuff a 275/40 in the rear.

I am looking at the BFG g-Force TA KDW. The tread looks kinda crazy on it which I like. I also like the Nitto 101, but I think the Nittos will probably wear down pretty fast.

Anyone else know of tires w/ a crazy tread? Post it! Please!

20''s are to Bling for me, im satisfied with my 18''s out back

They are nice wheels, just takes all the focus away from the car lol

And you will be able to fit a 275/40 tire in the back, thats what im running now and i have room for a 285/35 tire and im lowered 2" in the rear.

I would have never thought I would say that I like 20's on any of the old muscle cars, but I think they look bad ass! I wouldn't put them on my car, but I definetly like them.

Honestly, I don't care for that look. It looks ooookay on some cars. Like the Viper for instance. You can run a larger wheel in the back and a 1" smaller wheel in the front and it looks good. When you run 2" apart from front and back I think it looks kinda goofy.

I will say this... I initially ordered the 18s, then I called and changed them to the 20s the next day, then I called the NEXT day after that and changed it back to the 18s. LOL!

I couldn't make up my mind... I am sticking with the 18" wheel. I reaaaallly like the look of the 20", but I can't see driving around on them. Not on a 30 series at least. Hell I had 35 series on my Chrysler 300 and those were thin.

I think a 19/20 would be nicer, the 20 in the front is a bit much, but they dont make 19 in rallyes. i have 18s as well but i didnt like how they looked at all.

Definately a personal taste thing, not for me. I'm just curious, those that really love it- location? (west coast? urban?) Not a diss... just curious as auto trends like this are a kind of culture that can be more popular in one area of the country vs another.

You have the 18" Rally on your car? You don't like how they look? Post some pics of your car with them on if you get a chance. I would like to see how they look.

I just got a fresh set of 18" Rallys. They are sitting in my garage still in boxes.

I wish they would make 19" too. That would be the perfect size.
