Hey guys,
Just bought a set of 17X8 w/ 235/40 up front (clear fine so far). In the back I am hoping to run 17X9(Hotwheels Sixty-eight) with 5" bs and 255/40/17, will this clear w/o rolling the fenders. If not I need to return the 17X9 for 17X8's, I am trying to get this wrapped up this weekend so the sooner I can get an answer the better. Thanks!

If you already have the fronts, use them as a fitment guideline. Install, measure, and calculate.

I have Hotwheel 68's on my 67 Firebird. I sucessfully fit 17x9 with a 24mm positive offset on the rear using 275/40r17 size tires. I cant drive the car yet but i have towed it to my shop with a car dolly, no rub marks anywhere. I didn't need to roll the fenders either. I guess the tolerances of these old cars will allow this sometimes and sometimes not. I measured a bazillion times and originally ordered the 45mm positive offset wheel but it was too close to the inner wheel house. The 24mm fits my car just right.

Yes you can safely run that in the rear. I have 285/40/18 Z06 rim in the back of mine and it fits without mod. anything. and i have hotchkis drop springs to.
