Hey guys,
This pic is of a new ZZ SBC crate motor. What are the two holes for at the rear top of the block near the bellhousing flange. There is a set on both the drivers side and passenger side, one hole is threaded and all the way through and the other is a little bigger, no threads and does not go all the way through. Thanks for any help.

Assembly holes, probably. The small holes are used on some older Vettes to hold wire looms. They would be un-needed for you.

They are for the plug wire loom clips. Chevy sells a set of plug wire looms for the ZZ engines and one goes on each side of the block here. They have a small screw in the threaded hole and a bent tab to keep them from twisting goes in the other hole.
